Amy And The Engine
Amy & The Engine

Fronted by a modern day Twiggy-meets-Stevie-Nicks, and backed by musicians that hail from across the globe, Boston-based Amy & The Engine brings singer/songwriter depth to upbeat synth-pop with a folk-rock sensibility. Coy vocals compound with lyrical smarts and the infectious melodies of “quirky pop,” creating a signature “catchy, earworm style” (Vanyaland). Hailing from South Portland, Maine, frontwoman Amy Allen began her love affair with music when she picked up a polkadot electric guitar at the ripe age of nine. Allen has since enjoyed two solo EPs, an appearance on The Voice, and has garnered over 50,000 views on her YouTube Channel. Riding these successes, she enrolled in the esteemed Berklee College of Music to study songwriting. Here, she met her “engine” – an eclectic group of guys who would become her supporting outfit – and Amy & The Engine was born.

It comes as no surprise that within the last year alone, the band has inspired and impressed audiences with performances at VH1’s Save The Music Foundation and NYC’s CMJ Music Marathon 2014. They were nominated for the New England Music Awards’ Best New Act of 2014, and have opened for acts the likes of Vance Joy, Lily & The Parlour Tricks and The Streets of Laredo. With more releases on the way, their latest single/video “Last Forever” dropped Valentine’s Day with exclusive premiers on Teen Vogue and Entertainment Weekly. The band is set to debut a six-track EP in fall of 2015 – expect a record that is fresh, “pop gold” and teaming with “pure sunshine” (Portland Press Herald).
